I am Joshua Michael Pulliam — researcher, survivor, self-taught mycologist, and the founder of NeuMycLabs. I was born in the kind of America that doesn't make the highlight reel: the one where intelligence without resources still means starting from scratch, where life has a way of humbling even the most capable among us, and where the greatest breakthroughs are born not in laboratories — but in necessity.

For over two decades, I have been an obsessive, restless student of the world around me. I ran my own radio station before graduating high school with a 3.75 GPA. I survived a stroke that left my face partially paralyzed. I walked away from every single one of those moments. Not unscathed — but awake. And it was in that relentless pattern of surviving what should have broken me that I began to understand something most people aren't willing to sit still long enough to see: the human nervous system is not fixed. It is not finished. It can be coaxed, rebuilt, and redirected — if you give it the right tools.

That understanding became my obsession after my mother died from her stroke in January of 2018 — less than a year after I had mine. I began researching mycology and neurology simultaneously, driven by something more urgent than curiosity: I was watching my own neurological function decline, and a physician in Portland had projected that by age 42, I could require full-time care. I am 39. I don't accept that projection. And more importantly, I've found compelling reason — both scientifically and personally — to believe we don't have to. My research led me to five remarkable functional mushrooms (Lion's Mane, Chaga, Reishi, Turkey Tail, and Cordyceps), and ultimately to a compound derived from an African tree bark demonstrating what the literature itself calls rapid neuroplasticity — measurably rerouting neural pathways around documented brain damage, faster than researchers anticipated. When I read that, something clicked into place that years of searching had been building toward.

I have coined the intersection of these two fields Neural-Mycology — the study of how mycological compounds interact with, protect, and actively regenerate the human nervous system and its neural architecture. NeuMycLabs is the living, working expression of that research. My goal is not to sell a product. My goal is to develop a concentrated, rigorously formulated extract — beginning at a minimum 25:1 ratio of these five verified neuro-supportive fungi as the base foundation of my neuroserum— that gives the human body a genuine, evidence-supported opportunity to begin repairing itself. Not to keep you coming back every month. To actually work. For stroke survivors. For those living with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, neurodegenerative disease, PTSD, major depressive disorder, and the many conditions modern medicine manages but rarely reverses.

I am not a credentialed scientist. I am something arguably more valuable in this moment: a person with lived neurological damage, two decades of self-directed research, hands-on cultivation training, and an absolute refusal to accept the ceiling others have placed on what healing can look like. I am a father of three extraordinary sons, one of whom is autistic — which only deepened my commitment to understanding the brain on every level it presents itself. I believe the world is measurably better with each of us fully in it, operating at our highest capacity. He began his journey in the heart of Silicon Valley (Santa Clara CA) around the year 2000, immersing himself in the rapidly evolving world of technology. Like the technology company called Bay Networks. Being a Pre-IPO who revolutionized the networking industry by inventing the switch, a networking device.  Which is now used in every network around the world.  No mater how small or how big the network is they all need one. He worked for over the years for more than one technology company in the Bay Area. From networking to networking security, he developed a strong foundation in computers and website development, building the technical skills that would shape his entrepreneurial path.

Driven by innovation and independence, Joseph went on to manage his own online store, WeHelpItSell — a platform built on the philosophy that “It” truly meant anything and everything. Through this venture, he gained hands-on experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, operations, and customer engagement.

While launching new projects, Joseph expanded his knowledge into the fields of neurology and mycology. Though these disciplines were not his original focus, he committed himself to learning from reliable sources and trusted expertise. Working alongside Joshua, who brings extensive knowledge and experience in these areas, Joseph has continued to grow both personally and professionally. Under Joshua’s mentorship and through their collaborative efforts, they share an ambitious vision: to help revolutionize the industry through innovation, research, and forward-thinking solutions.
